Andrew Berman: As a top performer, what gives you that competitive edge?
Ryan Eberhardt: I feel that I have to have a really regimen schedule. Being a loan officer is not just a job, truthfully it’s in your blood. You have to be on 100 percent of the time, because you never know what that next question might be or where that next deal might come from. You always have to be on top of your game, starting my mornings around 5:30 to 6:30 a.m. and then working well into the evening hours allows me to touch base and plan to connect with everybody. Most importantly is communication. A lot of people lack that in our industry. Your clients will always want to refer you if you communicate well. Whether if that is returning a message at 8:00 p.m. or picking up a call from a realtor when you’re sitting at a ball game on a Sunday afternoon. Being able to connect with them and responding to them is half the battle.
Andrew Berman: How much does your online reputation matter?
Ryan Eberhardt: In today’s market, it’s everything. With technology, smartphones, and online searches, that is the number one thing that is going to set yourself apart from somebody else. In these days for the clientele out there, where are they going to go? They are going to go to the internet. If a realtor refers me, I am going to do the same thing. I am going to Google somebody online and check them out, see their stats and where they work, what their ratings are.
I have my production manager watch over the Facebook account making sure that things are posted correctly, making sure that she is getting back to any connections that are coming through. Also SocialSurvey, which is a fantastic resource that we have adopted here at Diamond Residential, as it links to LinkedIn and Zillow. So all of these online marketing platforms intertwine. These clients can read these reviews if they’re a friend of mine or they connect with me and see the good client that had an awesome experience with us.
Andrew Berman: What is your most memorable WOW customer satisfaction experience?
Ryan Eberhardt: The biggest, heartfelt moment is probably when I received a huge hug from a client. She’s been denied three times from a previous lender, she had 15 days to get out of the house, and we were able to close it in that amount of time with her and her son. That right there, really makes me emotional. I always try to help and do the best I can.
