5.00–I was scheduled to close a couple days prior to Hurricane Irma. We were obviously delayed. Andrew Berman: As a top performer, what gives you that competitive edge?
Christian Plocica: It boils down to just a few things, one of them is being consistent and building great relationships. I was a former teacher and I think that has a lot to do with me in the industry now. Relating to people, basically listening to what their needs are, and just going above and beyond. I like to say that my service is unrivaled in this business and I think that’s really helped me, especially with my referral partners keeping in touch where we are with the loan process milestones. If they have to chase me down, I’m not doing my job.
Andrew Berman: How much does your online reputation matter?
Christian Plocica: Well, nowadays it means everything. I think 87% of people are looking for things online so if you don’t have an online presence…you’re gonna be behind the eight ball. I’m [trying], to the best of my ability, to learn all of this stuff to make sure my online presence is a positive one and create a story.
I have a schedule and I try to take the time each and every day to make sure I do have an online presence. When I’m at closing, to take pictures. Obviously SocialSurvey is a great avenue when they put it on my social media websites. On social media you want to be interested in what your former clients are doing, or what your referral partners are doing. I think that helps as well.
Andrew Berman: What is your most memorable WOW customer satisfaction experience?
Christian Plocica: As you know here in Florida, we have hurricanes. We were hit in September with Hurricane Irma. The company was out for about a week, we didn’t have power. I actually lost power at my house as well but I knew I still had to be there for my customers. I took my family to Disney—not for a vacation—but to have a hotel room. I still kept in touch with everybody and I made sure that the process kept on moving. And when I got the survey back from [a client], he mentioned that, “even though Christian was working from the bed in his hotel room, he still made things happen.” And that’s the kind of service that separates me. I didn’t even think of it like that, that I was going out of my way—and he thought that I went above and beyond. And I was really just doing my job.
